Use the Interactive Identification Key

Click here to launch the Fish Identification Tool
Go to Start 1. You will then be given a series of choices. Always start at the top of each choice series. Pick the one that is true about the fish being identified. Then follow the line to the right to the next series of choices. Again, start at the top. If the first choice is false, go down the line to the next choice. Keep going down until you find the choice that best describes the fish, then go to the right again. Moving to the right might lead to either a quick answer or several other choices; or it may even tell you to go to another number in the key to start a series of new choice.
