Special Stocking of Trout a Great Way to Welcome Spring
Welcome in Spring by having some fun in the great outdoors. Nothing beats spending the day fishing - especially if you are fishing for something that's
relatively easy to catch, and might not be available in your area all the time.
On March 18th, the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission will be stocking rainbow trout in selected Nebraska waters. A coldwater fish, trout are typically stocked in several lakes throughout the state during the early winter. This added spring trout stocking provides area anglers with several weeks of opportunity to fish for different species in waters close to home. It's a great way to shake off those winter blues and get ready for the months of fishing ahead.
The trout to be stocked will be approximately 10 inches in length. They are interested in a variety of bait, and are fairly easy to catch, which makes fishing for trout an especially good activity to share with children. So round up your family and friends for a spring fishing trip to any of the places where the stockings are scheduled to occur:
